Description
Located in the municipality of Arraiolos, a historic village in Alentejo known throughout the country for its centuries-old tradition of manufacturing hand-embroidered carpets, HERDADE DAS MOURAS DE ARRAIOLOS is a living testimony of a new generation of wine producers that enriches the most genuine traditions.
With an area of 326 hectares, exclusively intended for the production and processing of grapes, the planting of 227 hectares of continuous vineyards began in 2002, a process that ended in 2005, the year of the first harvest.
To ensure less dependence on regional water supply infrastructure, a rainwater dam and an artificial storage lagoon were built on the estate, to feed directly into the "drip-by-drop" irrigation system.
