Description

Located in the heart of the Jura vineyards in France, on a hill of grey marl and fossilised limestone, the Château d'Arlay vineyard dominates the history of wine: reputed to be the oldest wine château in France and a former Royal Vineyard of Spain, England and France.

Family owned, never bought or sold since the Middle Ages, the Château d'Arlay vineyard is a historical exception.

Alain, Anne and Pierre-Armand de Laguiche perpetuate here today a unique know-how: that of producing lively, dynamic, seductive wines and spirits with a marked personality.
Wines and spirits in an authentic Jura spirit, respectful every day of the Earth, of Men and Women, of Fauna and Flora.

Accompanied by a talented and experienced team, they work as closely as possible to the land to produce the best wines.

It is the jewel in the crown of the estate, the one that has earned them a ranking among the world's greatest wines. A dry and powerful wine with nutty aromas, the yellow wine is made from the Savagnin grape variety alone, aged for nearly 7 years in barrels, left to drain by natural evaporation, without topping up or sulphiting, under a veil of indigenous yeasts, without the addition of selected commercial yeasts.

Tasting

Richness and complexity of the aromas, persistence of the fragrances, fresh and delicate style, everything participates in the highest expression of quality.

Appearance : yellow colour with green or gold reflection...

Aroma : Long and powerful scents from nuts, dry fruit, mushrooms, sweet spices, toasted bread, mocha.

Palate :  Clear and vigorous start in the mouth, tastes of fresh and dry nuts, oriental spices, roasted aromas, cold tea, exotic wood, tobacco.

Serving : The Vin Jaune is always served tempered at room temperature (17°C), warmer than any other dry white wine.

It's ideal with a Shitake soup or the Bocuse's truffle soup, foie gras, morels, grilled lobster, scallops, monkfish, crayfish, caviar, snails, our typical chicken dish in morel cream sauce, orange duc.

An opened bottle can be kept, under regular conditions, for several weeks.
