The technology is minimalist, using granite presses with mechanical crushing. After fermentation with a week of tanning, the wine entered a stainless steel vat where it clarified naturally. After malolactic treatment, it was transferred to oak barrels, where it aged for approximately 12 months.
Description
It is a story of passion, struggle, entrepreneurial skill and a deep love for the land that translates into a small family business with 45 hectares of vineyards and wine brands that gradually reach all corners of the world.
VINILOURENÇO is located in the small village of Poço do Canto, in the municipality of Meda, in the heart of the Douro Superior. Since the 1980s, the Lourenço family acquires several plots of land in the Douro Superior and Horácio Lourenço, upon his return from Angola, designs an imaginary triangle for the location of his vineyards.
Tasting
A wine of excess for those who like strong emotions, made only in exceptional years.
Opaque in the light, sharp on the edge of the glass with garnet tones. The aroma is dominated by notes of raisin fruits, sweet spices and chocolate. In the mouth it is full-bodied, velvety texture, firm tannins and enough acidity to hide the high alcohol content.
