Description

The oldest Port house

Even before the demarcation of the Douro region, Kopke already existed. Founded in 1638, the oldest Port house has built an impeccable reputation based on high quality principles. A leader in the production of Tawny Colheita Port, including whites, Kopke has an enviable portfolio of special category Ports and also produces top-of-the-range DOC Douro wines.

"History and exclusivity are two of the words that best describe Kopke, a brand synonymous with prestige."

Tasting

Highlights of macaroon, almond and cherry along a deep, smooth caramel backbone provide a long, creamy, toasty finish.

Serving temperature: between 12 and 14°C.

Food and wine pairings: Slightly chilled, it expresses all its finesse and refinement when paired with caramel desserts, dried fruit and spices, such as a caramel fondant with apple and ginger jelly, tarte Tatin, crème brûlée and cheeses of minimal intensity. Despite its age, the wine retains its freshness. An exceptional match with a refreshing mandarin parfait.
