Origin of the grapes: In 2015 we began exploring a unique vineyard, with an average age of more than 80 years and with a huge diversity of white grape varieties. Vale D. Maria Vinha de Martim Douro Branco shows the unique and differentiated character of the different plots of old vineyards that spread across the Douro. We feel that we express the Douro that we have known for many centuries in this wine.

Vinification and aging: Destemmed grapes, lightly crushed in a pneumatic press, with the resulting must decanted into 2,500 liter stainless steel vats for 24 hours at 10º C and then transferred to new 225 liter French oak barrels, where it fermented for 25 days at controlled temperatures between 10ºC and 14ºC. It aged in these barrels for 9 months, with bâttonage.

Vale D. Maria Vinha de Martim seduces with its color and aromatic character. In the mouth, it shows more complexity with some more woody aromas, a pleasant, enveloping and tasty freshness. This wine announces itself discreetly, only to reveal a long and surprising finish, with an elegant persistence.
