Description
For 130 years, the house has been in the hands of the family. Today, the fourth generation continues the quest for that "elegant perfection" for which Joseph Drouhin wines are known, by perpetuating tradition and innovating.
The Domaine Joseph Drouhin has been built up over the decades and now comprises 73 hectares in the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise and Chablis.
With approximately 90 appellations, made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, Joseph Drouhin offers a fascinating discovery of the Burgundian terroir, with respect for the land, the vines and the environment.
Tasting
Tasting by Véronique Boss-Drouhin
"Of course, the colour of the wine is unparalleled in trapping the light, bright, brilliant, a beautiful cherry red. But it is at first sight that the prodigy appears: small fruits? no, rose or hawthorn? no, spices? yes: pepper, nutmeg, a touch of paprika and ... pepper. The aroma is there, but distinguished, subtle, homeopathic. The palate has other pleasures in store for us, no harshness but a lovely construction where the sap and the tannin are in harmony with each other with grace and velvetiness".
