Description
Maurice Drouhin was for many years the Administrator of the Hospices de Beaune, then Vice-President of the Administrative Commission of the institution from 1941 to 1955. In parallel, he directed the Joseph Drouhin company of wine-merchants and growers.
His generous donation of high quality vineyards constitutes one of the largest areas of Beaune Premier Cru at the Domaine des Hospices.
It covers 2.69 hectares, 40% being found in Les Avaux, 25% Les Champs Pimont, 25% Les Boucherottes and the rest in Les Grèves.
Tasting
Complex and thin nose with intense notes of red fruits and small hints of spices. It is harmonious overall with a dominance of fruity aromas on the palate, followed by a rich and thin tannic structure. The ageing under wood is elegant and the wine represents the diversity that offers the vineyard of the capital of Burgundy.
