Description
This is a blend of different parcels of Premiers Crus from the Domaine Joseph Drouhin (Roncières, Mont de Milieu, Montée de Tonnerre, Moireins), located on either side of the river Serein. They are harvested and vinified separately, then blended together. The result is a harmonious wine to which each Premier Cru brings its own identity.
History & tradition: in the 1960s, at a time when the Chablis vineyards were being abandoned, Robert Drouhin believed in the potential of the soil that had been ravaged by phylloxera a century earlier. He was one of the first Burgundy winegrowers to make the most of it, producing wines that were typical of the terroir in which they were grown.
Tasting
"A nervous, dry wine, typical of the Chablis region. Brilliant yellow-green colour. The aromas are reminiscent of lemon, citrus fruit, asparagus, etc... On the palate, the attack is lively and fresh with a nice "grain". The finish is long, both fruity and mineral, with a hint of honey when the wine has matured a little."
