The history of Licóbidos ‘Mariquinhas’ is first and foremost a family and local story. Our roots go back to the man who started it all, Abílio Ferreira de Carvalho, who created the first ginjinha recipe in a tavern in the small, picturesque village of Sanguinhal, in the municipality of Bombarral.

This tavern and grocery shop is still open, two centuries later. The recipe has also remained intact.

The company, as we know it today, was founded in 1992.

Now in its fourth generation, continuing the tradition of making a good cherry liqueur by hand in a 100% natural way, Liqueur de Ginja is synonymous with Mariquinhas.
 

Handcrafted liqueur with duly selected fresh cherries (prunus cerasus) and very long macerations, which give this liqueur a deep and velvety aroma.
