Description
The CHATEAU PEYRE-LEBADE has a rich history, marked by
by illustrious men. The strongly calcareous geological nature of the site has
undoubtedly influenced the name of the estate, as Peyre-Lebade means "Raised Stone".
It is located in the southern part of the Médoc within the Listrac-Médoc appellation. It is located in the southern part of the Médoc in the Listrac-Médoc appellation. Its inland location is far from the Gironde estuary in the middle of the limestone plateau. The property benefits from a private and protected setting.
The particularity of the clay-limestone soil of the estate is its remarkable resistance to drought. The proximity of the Atlantic Ocean gives it a freshness that is reflected in the wine's vibrant bouquet. The terroir is very well suited to the cultivation of Merlot in a region where Cabernet Sauvignon is traditionally king. The Château is therefore typical of the Médoc, but in a very original way.
