Donnafugata was established in Sicily by a family that, thanks to its passion, has been able to innovate the style and perception of Sicilian wine throughout the world.

Giacomo Rallo, the fourth generation of a family with over 170 years of experience in quality wine, founded Donnafugata in 1983 together with his wife Gabriella, a pioneer of viticulture in Sicily. Today, their children José and Antonio lead the company and a team of people focused on excellence.

A label with intense colors that speak of red plums and lavender. A woman, Contesa dei Venti, which investigates the distance, letting herself be caressed and playing sweetly with the wind. The name of this wine takes its cue from the pleasant breeze that is always present in the Vittoria area and blows among the Nero d'Avola grapes at night as during the day. A light wind that comes from the dialogue between the sea and the Hyblaean mountains.

Eye: Bright ruby color with garnet highlights, clear and luminous with beautiful intensity.

Nose: Delicate and expressive, revealing aromas of fresh red fruits (cherry, raspberry), complemented by floral notes (violet) and elegant spicy hints (licorice, mild pepper), with a subtle balsamic touch in the background.

Palate: Smooth and fresh on the attack, the palate is harmonious and refined, supported by silky tannins and lively acidity. The red fruits from the nose reappear, enhanced by spicy nuances and a fine minerality. The finish is elegant, persistent, and slightly minty.

Food Pairing: Perfect with grilled white meats, roasted poultry, Mediterranean dishes with grilled vegetables, or soft, mild cheeses. It also pairs beautifully with fine charcuterie or mildly spiced dishes.
