Description
Considered one of the leading Cru Bourgeois Superieur in the 19th century, and confirmed as such in 2020, Lamothe-Bergeron is a historic Médoc estate.
What did the estate look like in the Middle Ages? It's hard to imagine, because all that remains of the first château, which was actually a fortress, is a plan drawn by Léo Drouyn in a book of 1865.
In his 1898 edition, Féret takes us back to the 14th century, when the estate belonged to the Captal de Buch. "It is said that, having become a prisoner of Duguesclin, the Captal sold ten harvests of his wine, highly esteemed by the English who occupied Bordeaux at the time, in anticipation of the heavy ransom demanded of him.

Tasting
