Description
2nd wine of Château de Boyd Cantenac, GCC Margaux, this cru is located in Cantenac.
It took the name of "Massac" in the 19th century. Following the personal bankruptcy of John-Lewis Brown, the 50 hectares of Brown were distributed among several buyers including Mr. Darquier who created "Latour Massac" with the vineyard located at a place called "La Tour" as a base. Jean Elie succeeds his father-in-law Pierre Darquier before 1893.
The descendants of Pierre Elie, son of Jean, are still at the head of Château Tour Massac.
Tasting
Eye: a pretty deep garnet color.
Nose: complex and intense fine, showing black fruits and spices from aging in wood. Liquorice is particularly present there.
On the palate: the attack is frank, supple, round, followed by a sensation of volume, a little creamy, which fills the mouth.
Food Pairing Wine: Ideal with duck breast, lamb, steak, game or cheese.
Contains sulfites
