Domaine Font-Freye, run by the Sumeire family since 1933, embodies a tradition of excellence in organic and biodynamic farming. With an emphasis on manual labour and respect for the terroir, they use horse-drawn ploughing, manual harvesting and massal grape selection. They use environmentally-friendly growing methods, such as reasoned treatments and biodynamic preparations.
The Sumeire family, deeply attached to the land and its values, perpetuates a family heritage of passion and know-how. Each generation is committed to maintaining the excellence and authenticity of the estate, while innovating to meet the contemporary challenges of sustainable agriculture.
Formerly known as Château La Tour de l'Evêque and Château La Tour Sainte Anne, their estate, rich in history, was once a summer residence for the bishops of Toulon. It bears witness to centuries of commitment to quality and respect for nature, once welcoming royalty such as Queen Marie and Queen Jeanne. In this way, Font-Freye remains a living legacy of Provence, combining tradition with respect for the environment.
