The wine heritage of Maison Mumm was written well before 1827, when it was created; the Mumm family, whose lineage includes barons and knights, dates back to the 12th century. Since 1761 she has been producing and selling wines based in Cologne and called "P.A. Mumm" for Peter Arnold Mumm. The company already owned important vineyards in the Rhine Valley and made the wines itself.


From the beginning, the concern for quality became the constant rule of the partners of 1827 and their successors. This approach will be the motto of Georges Hermann Mumm: "Only the best".

A historical relationship, as evidenced by these bottles edited by Mumm in the 19th century, customized for large restaurants and hotels. The name Mumm appears regularly in the worldly and gastronomic press, which published the menus of receptions of high society. The brand also has a special relationship with the great circles of gourmets of the time.
